Information software provider Orion Health has forged significant new global partnerships over the past 12 months, with companies such as Logica, Xwave, Philips and Merge. Post-GFC, Orion Health is experiencing significant and consistent growth, with its half yearly revenue performance up 80 percent above the same period last year (first six months of FY 2010 to 2011). Up to 95 percent of the company’s revenue is booked overseas.

In September, the Auckland-based company was awarded a lucrative contract with Maine’s HealthInfoNet information exchange project in the US, after successfully handling a pilot project.

“Healthcare organisations are under increasing pressure to perform better, faster and yet always more economically without compromising patient care. For Orion Health, the future of healthcare technology lies in being flexible enough to manage small projects — a single organisation, a city or a region — as well as large projects like Maine’s HealthInfoNet, the largest state-wide HIE (Health Information Exchange) in the US,” says CEO Ian McCrae.
