Eight-year veteran CIO Owen McCall leaves retailer
The position of CIO at The Warehouse has been disestablished and Owen McCall, who held the role from 2003, left the company last week.
The elimination of the CIO position was part of a review of senior management by Mark Powell, The Warehouse’s new CEO.
Powell declined to comment on the restructuring, saying there will be an official announcement about the changes next week.
During his time as CIO, McCall oversaw projects including upgrading The Warehouse’s ERP system from a legacy Linc mainframe-based one to a Jade Wintel environment, the introduction o f RFID tags, server virtualisation, and the introduction of the ITIL best-practice framework.
