Use technology to 'amplify' the enterprise

By Divina Paredes | Monday, November 19 2012
Mark McDonald, group vice president at Gartner, discusses how CIOs can use technology to ‘amplify the enterprise’.

IT’s role has changed from automating the enterprise, to “amplifying” the enterprise, using technology to give organisations “new capabilities at speed and scale, and innovation”, he tells CIO New Zealand.

As part of this “amplification’ process he says it is important to measure the external impact of technology, the business benefits realized, and to benchmark its operational performance, to show “where IT works, good things happen”.
