St John rolls out cloud based project management system
The system provides an integrated view of projects, investments, resources and applications.
“Having all of our business cases and current project plan in the same system makes it easy for the organisation,” says May Richards, PMO manager at St John.
“Changepoint will provide our organisation with intelligent, actionable information that drives consistent, timely care and sound business decisions. We’ll be able to put plans into place much faster, have peace of mind and proactively manage our staffing requirements,” she says.
If they will have to choose whether to invest in a project, the system can look at cost benefit, risks and resources that are needed. Staff can get into the system with a single log-in.
The need for such a system was highlighted during the Christchurch earthquakes. “We had to immediately reallocate skilled staff engaged on projects to rapidly establish crisis teams,” she says. “Using Changepoint, we'll now be able to proactively evaluate the impact on our projects organisation-wide and assess different resourcing scenarios quickly.”
“You can drag out an icon of a project, move it over and the engine behind it will calculate everything,” she says.
Richards says the move to a software as a service offering for St John's project management portfolio means cheaper maintenance and upgrade, as these are all managed by Compuware.
