Scroggie exits Symantec

Symantec's managing director Craig Scroggie is leaving the company and Brenton Smith will be appointed ANZ MD, the security vendor has announced.

Symantec says Scroggie has chosen to "pursue some of his other business interests outside of the company". 

Smith, who now steps up as MD, joined the company a year ago as vice president for the Symantec.cloud business across Asia Pacific and Japan, based in Singapore. 

He has 20 years’ experience in the IT industry having held a number of senior leadership roles at a range of multinational firms including BusinessObjects, Siebel Systems, Brightstar Information Technology Group and SAP. Prior to joining Symantec, Smith was managing director for CA Technologies in Australia and New Zealand.

With his great wisdom and hands-on approach I look forward to this next chapter of Symantec in Australia and New Zealand under Brenton’s leadership.”

Bjorn Engelhardt will assume the lead of the Symantec.cloud organisation, as part of the Asia Pacific and Japan Strategic Sales group. Additionally, the Asia Pacific and Japan Channels and SMB portfolios which were recently added to Smith's remit will be led in the interim by Kwok.
