New CTO for NZ Lotteries
Prior to this, Hughes was manager - information systems at Farmlands Trading Society.
Hughes has more than 20 years of experience in IT across a variety of industries, as both client and vendor, and provides a valuable perspective from both sides of the table, says NZ Lotteries chief executive Wayne Pickup.
Hughes' LinkedIn profile shows his previous employers included Gen-i, Axon (now part of Dimension Data), IBM, Dow Jones Markets (now Thomson Reuters), Eagle Technology, SolNet and Independent Newspapers (now Fairfax Media).
“Over two million Kiwis play our games, at least once a year. We want to put our customers and the way we interact with them at the centre of everything we do, which requires new types of technology systems and the ability to leverage information across our business,” says Pickup in a press statement announcing the appointment of the new CTO.
“As our channel diversity increases, providing a consistent customer experience across all channels becomes even more important.”
NZ Lotteries has over 1150 retailers and a growing online presence atMyLotto.co.nz.
It ranks number 49 in the 2012 MIS100, the annual report on the top IT using organisations in New Zealand.
